Le Rara est peut-être l’expression musicale haïtienne la plus fascinante, et aussi l’une des plus méconnues. C’est pour cette raison que je vous invite à découvrir le site Rara, Vodou, pouvoir et représentation en Haïti et dans la diaspora. Site qui regroupe les travaux d’Elizabeth McAlister, ethnomusicologue et enseignante à la Weslayan University.
Vous y trouverez notamment des enregistrements son, des vidéos, collectés il y a une quinzaine d’années en Haïti.

Bal Créole Spécial Haïti
Un Bal Créole spécial Haïti à ne pas manquer le 12 décembre 2010. Au programme notamment concerts de James Germain et de Jean Jean Roosevelt à 19h.

Léogâne après séisme
Je vous invite à regarder les photos (terribles et superbes à la fois) de Florabelle, afin de constater la situation de Léogâne (épicentre du séisme du 12 janvier 2010) dix mois après le séisme.
« A travers ces photos, il s’agit de rendre compte, non seulement des stigmates du séisme que les haitiens ont surnommé « goudougoudou », de moments de vie dans des camps de sinistrés où les solutions d’hébergement d’urgence provisoires semblent se pérenniser, mais aussi et surtout, de la beauté du peuple haïtien.
En accompagnement de ces photos, les musiques de Beethova Obas et de Boukan Ginen chantent la douleur de leur pays. »

La star du Hip Hop Wyclef Jean ne pourra pas se présenter à la présidentielle haïtienne, le conseil électoral provisoire en a décidé autrement.
Le musicien s’est exprimé dans une tribune intitulée : Keep The Faith.
